What to Expect

Slate Hill is a church where people can be real and make REAL CONNECTIONS. It is a place where tradition is acknowledged and valued and is a part of our BLENDED WORSHIP. At Slate Hill, that worship unites and inspires us to GROW in our faithfulness to JESUS and share His message. We are a church that encourages people to live in COMMUNITY and to go into their community to make a PRACTICAL DIFFERENCE in the world. At Slate Hill, we are Living Our Faith.

REAL CONNECTIONS – We’re a first name kind of church –  a place that values each person and loves to personally welcome visitors.  We’re a place where people feel comfortable being themselves – whether that’s in jeans or in a suit. Come as you are and you’ll fit right in.

BLENDED WORSHIP – During our Sunday worship, you may hear the latest worship song as well as a classic, well-loved hymn.  Our worship also blends generations. Children stay in the service for a large portion of the worship time; during the message, they have the option to attend a separate time called “Children’s Church”.

GROW – Come as you are, and see where God takes you. We believe it’s important to nurture each other and also challenge each other to grow in our faith.  We have small groups for adults and youth that encourage connection and accountability. 

JESUS – We share basic beliefs with other Evangelical groups, giving particular emphasis to following Jesus in discipleship, building a strong supportive faith community and living a life of peace and service. Click here to read our “Confession of Faith”.

COMMUNITY – We like to do life together. We like to worship together and serve together. We also believe that children and youth are an important part of our community and you’ll find that our programs foster connections across generations. 

PRACTICAL DIFFERENCE – We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our neighborhoods and our community. We believe in being everyday peacemakers – people who offer food to the hungry, help for the brokenhearted and hope for the hopeless.
